I love my fam!

Trogdor made it through the surgery just fine and was up and running around that night! He never showed any sign of pain or anything, but he does have a pretty high tolerance. He can take a beating from our cats and then run after them to "play" some more. So cute.
And my brother made it home safe and sound and taller and skinnier! I mean who goes to Utah on a mission and comes back skinnier? Well it wasn't because he wasn't being fed, but he has actually worked really hard to get into better shape. Kudos to him. But he has grown up a lot on his mission. Its fun to see how different he is, but still see the little brother he used to be. Hopefully he will keep his good habits he developed on his mission, like waking up early and cleaning... We went to my parents house this weekend and it was a blast. Daniel and Jonathan played Wii til all hours of the night. We cleaned up my mom's house, and had Jonathan's open house. That was pretty awesome. We had a lot of people show up and lots of food and friends. Good times.

On the weight loss front, I am now about 5 pounds away from what I was when Daniel met me! :) That's still WAAAAy to big, but atleast now I feel like I am on my way! Woo Hoo!

Now I can't wait until my family comes to visit me this weekend. We will go buy drywall and stuff so we can really begin making over at least our living room and we will go do lots of stuff in Lafayette! And I also can't wait until Raul and Kelly come visit us! Kuz we love them so much! and I really like their taste so I hope they will help us pick out colors and stuff. Plus Kelly always finds great deals! So that will be good too! And now Sandy (my best friend) and Jake (her husband) are coming to visit us too! This is GREAT! And both have them have actually hung drywall before!!! EVEN BETTER! We haven't had this many visitors in our house since we've been married! Its WONDERFUL! So I can't wait until you all come and spend time with your favorite people! LOL J/K!

Today's the day!

Trogdor left this morning for surgery. I hope everything goes well. I'm sure it will. I won't get to see him until Daniel gets home from work, and then we are leaving to go pick my brother up at the airport! I can't believe my little brother is a returned missionary! These are times we used to talk about when we were kids, but it seemed like it was so far away it would never happen. Now it has...its just wierd. Of course when we were kids I would always say I was going on a mission too. Turns out Heavenly Father had another mission for me. (Keep Daniel Curiel out of trouble :) )

Now I know what the Curiel boys are talking about when they say, "Crystal is a kid!? How can she have a baby!?" I know Daniel says stuff like that quite often, and I always tell him, she's not a kid. She's a married woman! But now I know its kind of awkward having a younger sibling actually growing up. I will probably always see Jonathan as that cute little boy with a mushroom haircut doing his rabbit impersonation when he was sad! Awwww! I miss that! LOL.

But life does go on, and now we have to work on finding a young woman who is good enough to be his eternal companion...hmmmm. I don't know if that will ever happen. (I'm NOT over protective! Just honest.)

Trogdor is the cutest burninator EVER!

I have been wasting time playing with my puppy all morning and he is so ADORABLE!!!! Its kind of an enigma, because he is actually kind of ugly, but so ugly he's cute... You guys will see when I get my camera. Just how his awkwardness makes him the most precious thing alive! well, I must go now. Time to clean and organize.

All moved

Wow it seems like it has been forever since I have logged on to blog. Lots has happened. We FINALLY closed on our house on June 16th! It was cause for great excitement. And we are totally moved in now thanks to my wonderful mom and sister and a couple of INCREDIBLE neighbors. We love them! Now I have the fun job of unpacking...Okay actually its not that fun (especially when you have to wait to do most of it because you are replacing the walls in your whole house) But when you really need things (such as a washer and dryer because you have no clean clothes) It really gets you working hard. Daniel has begun demo of the walls and ceiling already and we will begin buying drywall as soon as my brother-in-law comes over to help us get a 10% discount! (He works at Lowe's)

We have also moved all of our animals in and they are loving it! The kitty cats are enjoying lounging around all day and Trogdor gets a lot of playtime outside (In fact at one point he got a little too much, but that's a long story.) And pretty much all Vierra does is sleep and shed, but as long as she's happy, I'm happy. Anyway we are all doing well. Daniel is actually having success in Calculus II. He took a test yesterday and did not feel like a failure when he was done! That is HUGE!! Prayers are working! Keep it up!

Daniel ordered me another camera the other day, so as soon as we get it in, I will begin taking pictures of everything...the house, the animals, my hair, Daniel the cutie, everything! Hopefully it gets here before my brother gets home ONE WEEK from today! I really want pictures of his return and everything! We will see.

15 days!!!!

I cannot believe my brother comes home in 15 days!!!!! Its insane! We are going to have so much fun when he comes back! He is the best brother ever! YEA

Driving in the not so fast lane

Everything feels like its on hold right now. I don't have work (which is awesome). And the mortgage people are waiting for the underwriters to call back so we can close. So right now we are just kind of coasting which is a nice change of pace (but I really want to be in my house so I can be finished with everything by the time school starts.) Oh well, everything happens for a reason.

With all this extra time on my hands I finally got my hair cut. The lady at the salon was very nice and I got a head massage and everything. She also did a really good job with my hair. She said she only needed to cut about two and a half inches off the bottom and I was fine with that, and then she gave me some nice layers in the front (which never are perfect, but they are cute) and some sideswept bangs. I LOVE THEM! My forehead now looks normal instead of alien! And they give my hair much more body and life (even though hair is actually dead) So anyway, I like it and eventually, I might take a picture of it.

And I have more time to cook and give my husband attention! Its GREAT! We have learned some new card games that we like to play and we have had some decent meals! Mmm Mmm Good. Well I should go pack a few boxes. We are making another trip to the house today.

Life has been CRAZY!

Oh my! This is supposed to be summer vacation! This isn't vacation! I wanna go back to Alabama! That's vacation. So yeah, our lives have been pretty wild. The day after we got back from vacation I met a new dog and fell in love. She was so sweet and in such bad condition, I had to take care of her. So I brought her home (where no animals, not even fish, are allowed) and then brought her to the vet. He said she is nine or ten and in pretty good health. So we gave her all her shots and flea meds and now she is ours for sure. She has actually ended up to be one of the BEST dogs I have ever had. Perfectly potty trained. Super sweet, doesn't bark Too much, likes to go on walks and doesn't pull on the leash! Incredible. So now we REALLY can't wait to get into our house because we are illegal in our apartment. Everytime we take her out we have to go outside first to make sure no one is out there. We are like the mission impossible team (which is kinda fun, but stressful too).

My niece just turned five on Friday! So we went to her birthday party on Saturday and then went to see Kung Fu Panda afterwards (which is REALLY cute and funnier than I thought it would be) Then we came home so we could go to Stake conference in Baton Rouge yestaerday which was totally AWESIOME! We had Elder Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles come and speak to us! The spirit was so strong, I just loved it. (Daniel fell asleep during one of the talks and had a nightmare so he jerked really hard when he woke up and like everyone around us saw him! Then he started laughing uncontrollably because he was imagining what he looked like. It was really funny.)

Anyway, on top of that we have been trying to close on our house and it looks like it will actually happen this week! Which is really exciting. So we are getting all the utilities turned on this week...lots of moolah. The sellers have allowed us to begin moving stuff already so we started yesterday (after stake conference, which I don't know about y'all, but I always want to take a nice long nap after conferences) and on the way over there, Daniel's tire got totally thrashed so we have to take care of that too. But we are totally pumped! We will have our own house! YEA!

BTW we are so happy for Kevin and Crystal! The Lord really does answer prayers!
