No more drugs for me!

Well... there has been drama in this Curiel household... but everything has been taken care of. Except this pain is like CRAZY! We discovered I have dry socket and I can still barely open my mouth and my jaw is always sore. But I refuse to take any more pain medicine. That stuff is BAAaaaaaaaad... So, I will juat deal with it. In the mean time, Daniel has been working on his homework all week and going to work which has been no fun for me. And my mom has been taking wonderful care of me and my house!
We have planted a beautiful rose and a tomato outside and we went to the baby doctor today. Well, we have a plan. He gave me lots of medicine and a goal. I have three months to lose 25 pounds, and he told me how to do that... and then we should either be ovulating by ourselves, or he will jumpstart our ovulation. So we will see. Here are pretty pics of my pretty pot garden outside...

It was my Mom's wonderful idea to put smaller pretty flowers in the bottom of the rose container

And the tomato already has THREE tomatoes on it!

My first surgery!

I am happy to announce that my very first surgery went very well. I had three impacted wisdom teeth removed and I don't remember a single thing (thanks to the Valium) And the pain is not very bad. (thanks to the Vicadin - I think that's how you spell it.) In fact I feel quite good. If you know what I mean... My mom has come to take extra special care of me and she is doing my dishes and laundry and fixing me all kinds of wonderful soft food. Plus I have an incredible honey bunny who is also making sure I am completely comfortable. I felt so good today, I decided I was going to my family reunion in Texas! It was great fun! We hung out, ate GREAT food (although all I could eat was smushed up potato salad, lemon mirangue pie, and really soft turkey dressing.) rode horses and took a ride in an air boat which is one of those hover craft thingys. That was really fun! Now I am TOTALLY pooped and my jaw is ultra soar and swollen with slight bruising, I also have a slight sunburn which I can't feel (also thanks to the Vicadin) And Daniel is chillin out playing his guitar. So far so good. I can't wait for the Easter bunny to come! Happy Easter! I love my family! P.S. Super Congratulations to Raul and Kelly ! He's in ORTHO! I know they wanted to go back to AZ, but we are really excited they get to stay here close to us! We love those guys!

Is there a good kind of disaster?

This weekend was VERY eventful. Not that we had a lot planned, its just everything we did ended up in disaster. (The good kind) So, Friday night was good, and Saturday morning was BEAUTIFUL and kinda windy so I took my nieces (and my new puppy) to fly a kite in the field next to my mother's house. We were having a good time and things were going well, so I let my seven-year-old niece fly the kite by herself. Well, the wind picked up and blew the handle right out of her hand! And you know how kites are supposed to fall if you let go of the handle, that didn't happen. So this kite flew all the way across the field and over some power lines. Then the handle got stuck around these power lines and we thought we would get the kite when the wind died down, until the kite went across the street and got stuck in those power lines! It was quite a sight. I figured it was dangerous so I had my sister call the electric company and they came to get it down. They said it was very dangerous! That was enough kite-flying for one day.

So, then we were going to a movie (Whorton hears a who) The rest of my family got in, but Daniel and I went to get some snacks and by the time we returned, it was sold out. We went home and decided to wash our car. Then, as Daniel was pulling the hose to the car...he pulled the water pipe right out of the ground! Water was spurting everywhere! HAHAHA So we had to fix that and then (as it was getting dark) we finally got to clean our car. Upon waking up in the morning, we went out to see how good of a job we did...and it was covered in pollen! Whew. Who knew disasters could be so fun...

BTW the wind is blowing so hard right now! It is AMAZING! All the schools I went to today were losing power! Cool, huh?

He really is Superman!

We had some friends over for dinner last night. As part of dinner we had Tangelos. Daniel and I thought we had bought enough for everyone to have one and then two left over for us for later, but we miscounted and more people showed up than expected, so there were just enough. Which was good, but I was a little sad. (Tangelos are one of my favorite fruits!) But everyone enjoyed them. Now these friends have not had time to get close to us. We barely know them, so they are not the kind of friends who will just wave it off if you get in a fight in front of them... and while they were here Daniel and I got into a little spat. (I don't know if this ever happens to other people but sometimes when a situation is new, both Daniel and I will act weird. Like I will start talking a lot and get kind of hyper, and Daniel will make funny faces and be kind of loud.) So, I did not think it was a huge deal, I knew we were both acting like lunatics. I mean, my feelings were hurt, but I wanted to enjoy the evening so I tried not to make a big deal about it. Well, after the couple left (who by the way were very nice, and if they don't think we are too weird we want to get to know them better) I began cleaning up and we were talking about our evening and how things went. So that's when Daniel started talking about how mean he had been and kind of apologizing. I forgave him and we went to bed.
This morning he was still apologizing for the way he treated me last night and I told him it was okay, that I loved him. Well, I came home today to one of the biggest and sweetest surprises since we have been married. I opened the door and there on the table is this beautiful orchid with a note at the base.
Aren't they gorgeous!?
Here is what the note said...

I was totally stunned, I had no idea why this man had bought me flowers and I thought, "Oh how sweet he unloaded the dishwasher too!? This is too much." So I looked in the dishwasher and this is what I found...

A clean dishwasher and...Another note! This note was in his neatest handwriting telling me he put a lot of thought and effort into it. And in it, he told me he loved me, was very sorry for the way he acted last night and that he would also try to make it up to me. I was overwhelmed. I didn't even think he needed to apologize and here he was promising to make amends...I admit I was so overwhelmed with love and gratitude to my Heavenly Father for blessing me with this incredible man, I started to cry. Then I saw at the bottom of the note..."P.S. there's something in the fridge for you." So I opened the fridge and what do you think I found?

Tangelos!
One for me, one for Daniel, and one for lunch tomorrow.

I can't believe how thoughtful my husband is! I could never be that creative or thoughtful! I WISH! So anyway, I know I am the luckiest girl in the world! And I just wanted y'all to be let in on my Super scavenger hunt of sweetness!

"Delightful" Adventures

I am part of this choir called Red River Chorale. We meet every Monday night at 7:00 in Alexandria which is about an hour and a half away from where I live. I know, that is far. But it is worth it because the conductor is my old college professor. He is AMAZING. And it is so much fun to get to work with him again. My sister Shannan is also in the choir, so we get to see more of each other. (I love singing with her! She's so amazing, she should be a professional) So we had a performance this weekend. We did Faure's Requiem with an orchestra (which also had some college professors in it). And it was quite "delightful" as my childhood BFF kept repeating. (I love you Sondra D.) We had a really wonderful Soprano soloist: Araianna Zukerman from Washington D.C. come and perform with us. She was my hero! Of course I will never sound like that (its just not in the genes) but its fun to imagine. Leading up to the performance we had a couple of rehearsals close to each other...one Friday night, one Saturday morning and then the performance was Saturday night. After the rehearsal Saturday morning my sister Shannan and I decided to hang out (AKA...shop)! We went several places and then to PetSmart. All of their winter clothes are 75% off so I had to get some outfits for Trogdor. I also got him a collar! Its so cute! And then we went home (to Leesville). And it turns out, I had some time to play with Trogdor before we had to get ready and go...what a fun day!
After the performance Saturday night we all went out to eat (Johnny Carino's) and had a great time! And then began the trek home to Lafayette. Once we got home I began to prepare my Primary lesson. But it was getting really late and so I decided I would finish up in the morning. I woke up at 7 for last minute preparations and Daniel woke up at 8:15. We left around 8:50 which means we were going to be late and Daniel cannot stand being late EVER! So he was driving like a maniac trying to destroy our new car the whole way there. And...we were still late! But we still expected to take sacrament. Well, when we walked in it was weird, there was somebody speaking (like a talk). So we asked this couple next to us if they had already done sacrament. They said yes, they did it at 9. I said, but church begins at 9 and we only got here a couple minutes late and then they told us, yeah its daylight savings time. It was already 10:00! Hahaha. We had no idea! And the best part is, after sacrament meeting, Daniel was joking with the missionaries and said "Why didn't you call us and tell us it was daylight savings time!?" And the elder said... "What are you talking about? I did!" (Daniel totally thought he was joking) But when we got home and checked our messages, sure enough...the missionaries had called and reminded us! How great is that!? Oh well, at least I didn't miss my Primary class!

Thanks Kelly!

Thanks to Kelly, our website is even cuter! (If you can imagine) Because our picture has cute font and hearts and its just lovely! Thank YOU!!!

The cutest man ALIVE!

I have finally finished compiling my list of Daniel's traits. Let me tell you, this guy's kinda complicated, so it was hard just picking a few things about him...but here goes.
- Daniel has a great capacity to love unconditionally. Once he loves you, that's it - no matter what you do - he will ALWAYS love you.
- Daniel can make his eyebrows wiggle like hairy caterpillars. (It grossed me out the first time I saw him do it, but now I think its adorable.)
- Daniel can do spot on impressions! But only once. After that, he forgets how he did them.

- Daniel LOVES cats! Of our three (Sadie, Oscar, and Princess) Oscar is his favorite. But Oscar doesn't like him very much so Princess gets most of his love. I will tell you more about them later :)
- Daniel is hyperlogical. Which is why he's so good at math.
- Daniel feels like his mission for the day is not fulfilled until he makes me laugh.
- Daniel is REALLY good with money. He can save when there is NOTHING to save.

- Daniel has a powerful te
stimony of the Savior. (He helps strengthen mine all the time.)
- If Daniel doesn't know how to do something, he will look it up and work at it until he figures it out.

- Daniel dislikes being called "Danny" unless it is by his family

- Daniel is the cutest man on the planet.

- Daniel does not like ANYTHING that may draw attention to him.

- Daniel has the most incredible smile! It changes the shape of his entire face. When he smiles, everyone around him will smile...its contagious.

- Daniel is a fabulous uncle (you know, the crazy one that runs around getting the kids all hyped up) and I know he will be an excellent father.

- Daniel is very honest. Sometimes brutally. So you have to be careful what questions you ask. Y
ou will get an honest answer.
- Daniel makes up nicknames for pretty much everything living with us, around us, and with family. And those nicknames can change quite often.

- Daniel likes herbal tea, but only if its hot! If its cold he will not touch it. Regardless of what the temperature outside is (we southerners like tea with ice)
- Daniel will create or adopt a saying and that will be the main thing that comes out of his mouth for months. until he finds something new. (examples: grundle, I like gravy, I'm over it, "Your mom" stuff)

- Daniel is going to school to be a computer scientist so he can make video games.(His favorite pastime) He will be done in two years? Maybe?...we hope

- The last thing my Daniel said to my father before he died was, "I'll take care of your Jessica for you."

- And finally, one of my most favorite things about Daniel (physically) is his eyes. He has the most luxurious eyelashes I have ever seen. And his eyes tell you what he is thinking, what he is feeling, what kind of man he is. Honest, loving, passionate, fun-loving, penetrating eyes.

A New Addition!

Okay I don't know if you know this, but Daniel is ABSOLUTELY not a dog person. He loves cats...can't get enough of them. But doesn't do dogs. Well, my sister got this Lhasa Apso several weeks ago and hasn't sold him because he was sick. After MANY vet visits he is just at the tail end of his very bad bout of bronchitis plus other things. The vet told my sister that letting the puppy go outside a lot is good for his lungs so she lets him out every chance she gets. He is TINY and very low to the ground so he gets his hair in all sorts of things in his adventures. This makes for a VERY stinky puppy. (Not to mention the antibiotics give him diahrrea.)Well, Daniel had not seen this puppy until last Saturday. We rode to the petshop (my family owns) together on some borrowed bicycles and then went to work cleaning the snake cages. He got to hold the snakes while I emptied out old bedding, cleaned the tank, and put in new bedding and fresh water. After we were done with that, I went into the fish room to fill up some tanks that the water had evaporated out of. When I was finished I was ready to go home but couldn't find Daniel. So I went outside to get the bike and I cannot tell you how surprised I was to find Daniel playing on the ground with this very stinky fluffball. It was love at first sight. Daniel could not resist. I don't understand how, but this little guy has won the heart of the most stubborn man alive! He should be better within the next few weeks and once we find a place that allows animals we will be taking him with us. By the Way...His name is Trogdor conqueror of the heart of stone!
Isn't he just the cutest little thing!?
