I thought this was really cute

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."

The Lord led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand."

It is simple," said the Lord. "It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

Bomb Threat!

There was a bomb threat today at one of the schools I go to. So while they were making everyone pile into the stadium I asked if I could get out of there. And the principal said yes so I packed up all of the essentials and hurried out. And so I have some extra time. YEA! But i didn't have time to pack up my keyboard which stinks kuz I need it for my other classes. Oh well.
Also, We went to supercraft saturday this weekend and it was SOOO fun. I learned how to texture walls and it was so easy Daniel and I decided thats what we were gonna do! Finally we can get a move on with this house! So we have begun. And our house is dirty again. But its not so bad. I am actually enjoying it and it will be finished soon. Our hope is to have the walls in the dining room and living room textured, sanded, and primed by the time my family gets here on Saturday. I think its do-able if we work hard everyday. I actually have 98% of the walls finished in the dining room and one large wall textured in the living room. It doesn't take that much to sand its just dirty. Yea! We are getting somewhere, now we just need to figure out what colors we want.

This is the wall in the living room. It looks really good so far but you can't really see it in these pics.

And here is the wall in the dining room. It was the first attempt so its not as great. If we have mud left over I will probably go over it again.
I have pictures of the process, but I will post those in the HUGE upcoming post of the house from start to finish. Which will probably be a while since we still have to do crown moulding and paint the bedrooms and get curtains etc...Its never ending. Oh well.

We went to Raul and Kelly's this weekend. It was really fun. Although there were a lot of people at the housewarming party Daniel still enjoyed it. And the food really was excellent. Kudos to Kelly and Raul. We also enjoyed hanging out with them. Its always good to do that and catch up. Yes, we did watch the Paradine Case and it was pretty good. We also watched Chocolat which is one of my favorite movies. Every time I watch it I CRAVE chocolate. So I am READY for Halloween to come so I can get my candy fix. Kelly wanted to teach me how to ride a bike while we were there but I was too scared and wouldn't let her. Its too scary. I don't like falling off and scraping myself up. Anyway it was a wonderful weekend and we are looking forward to Arizona.

This weekend, I am taking a friend to Super Craft Saturday. It is the Relief Society Activity at our church. We are going to learn a whole lot of stuff. I can't wait. So SO So fun. And next weekend my family is coming down and we are going to have a party for my niece Natalie. She is turning eight! And the very next day she will be baptized! I am so excited for her. She is such a precious daughter of Heavenly Father. I know He is proud of her. And I am proud of her too. She always helps around the house and gets very good grades. She loves her sisters and her mommy and daddy very much and is a super cuddle bug!I am glad I get to be her aunt.

Long time no post

Life of course has been crazy. When is it not? But it seems to have slowed down a bit for a while. Here are some pics from the last hurricane. I know they are a little late, but you still will like them. This is our yard after hurricane Ike. It was worse before church, but drained out during the day. This was one of the shallow places. Daniel tried to stand in a deep area but was sinking super bad so we couldn't take a picture. But it went up to his knees. WHat's funny is at play practice this day we went and took a picture with the kids in a tree and they were SUPER dirty when we got finished.

And then here we are ready for the first evening performance of Bridge to Terabithia.

Now that we have the late stuff out of the way...We have been doing well. We finally got to go see my family and that was fun. Always crowded, but its fun hanging out with them. I love those TeSam girls. And conference was incredible, as always. It is really amazing how I feel like they are talking straight to me sometimes. I think its also amazing how I can feel so edified and so uplifted and yet feel like a slacker and that I need to get my rear in gear. Only the spirit can teach us so well. Anyway...

We are going to Alabama next weekend for Kelly's house warming party. I think she's gonna LOVE what we are getting her. tee hee. It will be great to see them.

The weather is SO gorgeous right now. I can't believe its so cool in the beginning of October! This is my favorite weather. When its just getting ready to get cold, but its not cold yet. And in the morning its cool and crisp and just perfect. It fills me with energy and the best part is there are NOOOOO mosquitos. YEA!!! Well time to go cook dinner :)

Bridge to Terabithia

Yes, I know I haven't posted in forever! But really have not even really had time. We have been working really hard omn Bridge to Terabithia! And I have been going and going from the time I wake up until I go to bed. Never a spare moment, which is not very good for the condition of our house tee hee. But the guys have been TOTALLY awesome and done the dishes and the trash and made dinner everynight for the past week and a half. They are THE BEST!

Things did not look great for the play on Monday, infact most of us were in tears...but it has really come together. Yesterday morning was our first performance and we had one today and then one tonight and one tomorrow night and then one on Sunday afternoon and then we are FINISHED!!! And I will finally be able to breathe and be a good wife once again. YEA! So I look smokin' hot right now for my performance tonight! I will have to take pics! Love ya

Can't take too long

So today was like TOTALLY gorgeous! The high was like 77 degrees. The sun was shining and we had a nice breeze. Usually after hurricanes it is HOT and Superdeeduper humid. (more than normal) and the mosquitos surround everything when they go outside, kinda like pirhanas. But it was so cool today they did not come out and it is really not humid at all today. Just perfect. Too bad we had to be at school all day today. Got home a few minutes ago and have to head out again soon because I am working with some kids on their parts in the musical," Bridge to Terabithia". Being the music director is kinda stressful when you don't get the music until 4 weeks before the performance and only have one rehearsal a week. But that's changing this week. Since the performance is next week and the kids aren't ready we are having rehearsals Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Monday Tuesday, and Wednesday. Plus we decided it would be best to rehearse with the main characters tonight. Talk about crazy, but we should make it. Especially since my life is a little less hectic right now since several of my students will not be in school for a while because the schools were flooded. So yeah everything is going well though. We are just praying that Abuelo hangs in there until after this play is over so we can go to the funeral and be with the family.
